History
A scientific mystery
Science has managed to reproduce the same process as that of nature by manufacturing a diamond created in the laboratory. Ethical and traceable , this diamond is free from any relationship with “blood diamonds”.
It is called a synthetic diamond and it has all the physical , chemical and optical characteristics of a mined diamond:
(the 4Cs: Clarity, Color, Carat, Cut), without the negative consequences linked to the extraction of natural diamonds.
It is impossible to distinguish a mined diamond from a synthetic diamond with the naked eye, it is in a way a magic diamond.
Their only difference comes from their years of existence. This magical diamond grows in the laboratory for a few weeks using a method called HP HT (High Pressure High Temperature).
Maison MYSTERYJOY integrates an ethical and social approach at the heart of its creative process, which reflects a strong awareness of environmental issues.
A dreamlike mystery
The first collection deliberately immerses us in the crazy world of Lewis Carroll and his Alice.
As if we had to rediscover our child's soul, a testimony of what we have been, and must be. The pieces are deliberately inspired by cartomancy, bringing new symbolism to the product.
Each card game element relates to elementary astrology. Through jewelry, MYSTERYJOY brings out real personality traits. Its DNA transcribes a kind of irreverence, a feeling of differentiation, of perpetual counter-current.
Each collection will explore a different, parallel universe, like an inception, a dream within a dream.
In its imagery, MYSTERYJOY plays between reality and dreams. His moments of reverie are always very saturated. They reflect the break with the real world. MYSTERYJOY women thus become creatures, strange and sublime.
"Our childhood was infused with cartoons, books and films that filled our eyes with stars. These fictional characters made us dream, they took us on a journey through stories with surreal, fantastic and fanciful settings, and the atmosphere of mysterious fairy tales.”
Jewelry as a devouring, constant, omnipresent passion since childhood. Diamond specialist (graduate of the HRD school in Antwerp) and graduate in gemmology at the National Institute of Gemmology in Paris, Joy spent several years training with a jewelry designer she really likes before creating her own book, just now, with MYSTERYJOY. She designs her jewelry like a magician designs her tricks. Each piece of jewelry is designed like a book to discover, a mysterious story to tell. Faced with the problems inherent in the use of “classic” diamonds, she is interested in ethical diamonds, “magical” as she likes to say, made by synthesis in the laboratory. Convinced that the future of jewelry lies in this ethical approach, she decided in 2021 to launch the MYSTERYJOY project.
"Your eyes are like jewels".
An ode to childhood and the imaginary, MYSTERYJOY plays on the codes of onirism and the hypnotic universe of 18th and 19th century fairy tales.
Through her 18-carat gold creations made in France, she simply narrates her nocturnal thoughts, the mysterious stories she invents for herself, hoping in some way to make women dream and bring them back to the innocence and gentleness that lurk in their secret gardens.
